PRESS RELEASE

The Italian Competition Authority, at its meeting on May 29th, 2018, deliberated the reopening of investigation proceedings on the Federazione Italiana Sport Equestri (FISE), according to Law n. 287/90.

The investigation – launched following the complaints of an amateur sport association and a sport promotion agency - to assess the violation of the commitment of the Federation making them binding by a provision in June 2011 and, consequently, the subsistence of one or more violations of articles 101 and/or 102 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union(TFEU), realized through behaviors used to prevent the development of manifestations and amateur equestrian contests by competing sports organizations.

The Officers of the Italian Competition Authority, with the help of the Special Antitrust Unit of the Guardia di Finanza, have today carried out inspections in the Federazione Italiana Sport Equestri and two Regional Fise Committees.
