Update of turnover thresholds
The Competition Authority has resolved that as from 30 April 2001 the thresholds beyond which prior notification must be submitted for all acquisitions and mergers is raised to 730 billion lire (377.014 million euros) for the aggregate national turnover of all the companies involved in the operation, and to 73 billion lire (37.701 million euros) for the turnover of the acquired or merged company.
This threshold increase, provided by section 16 of the Competition Act, is based on the increase in the GDP price deflator index which the General Report on the Economic Situation in Italy indicated as 2.25% in 2000.
