CONFLICT OF INTEREST: ANTITRUST AUTHORITY LAUNCHES PROCEEDINGS AGAINST PRIME MINISTER OVER DECODER CONTRIBUTIONS
The Italian Competition Authority, at its meeting on 22 December 2005, decided to open proceedings under Article 3 of the law on conflicts of interest. The proceeding has to do with the Prime Minister and aims to assess a situation notified by a number of members of parliament as to the possible existence of a conflict of interest in the setting aside of funds in the national Budget to assist in the purchase of television decoders.
