ANTITRUST: FABIO CINTIOLI NAMED NEW SECRETARY GENERAL
The Minister for Industry, the Hon. Claudio Scajola, has named Fabio Cintioli Secretary General of the Italian Competition Authority, as proposed by President Antonio Catricalà. Cintioli, aged 42, from Messina, is married with two children. He was appointed Councillor of State in 1998. Previously a magistrate and TAR judge, a scholar of public economic law, author of numerous technical works and contributor to specialist legal publications, he has taken part in a number of ministerial commissions, including the company law reform commission. He was a member of the Presidential Council on administrative justice, assistant to the President of the Constitutional Court, Riccardo Chieppa, and later legal adviser and chief of staff to the President of the Senate, Marcello Pera.
