FOOTBALL: AT GUIDO ROSSI'S REQUEST, ANTITRUST AUTHORITY TO SET OUT PRINCIPLES FOR NEW REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE PROFESSIONAL CODE

The Italian Competition Authority, at its meeting on 7 June 2006, decided to create a specific working group charged with setting out the basic principles to be adopted in rewriting the regulations for the professional football sector, having particular regard to the role of agent.
The decision followed a formal request received by the Authority from the FIGC's Special Commissioner, Guido Rossi.

The Antitrust commission will be made up of Alberto Nahmijas, Giuseppe Galasso, and Iacopo Berti, while Luigi Fiorentino and Roberto Sommella will coordinate relations with the FIGC and the Special Commissioner.
The results of this work will be forwarded to the FIGC's Special Commissioner before the summer break.
