Clarification: ATAC non involved in the proceeding under way regarding local public transport

With regard to the article published this week by Il Mondo, appearing on page 29 under the heading ‘Municipal Companies in for a Beating’, the Italian Competition Authority wishes to clarify that ATAC is not the subject of any investigation.

The proceeding referred to in the article involves 18 companies operating in local public transport (SITA – Società per Azioni, A.P.M. Esercizi S.p.A., Autolinee Regionali Pubbliche Abruzzesi A.R.P.A. S.p.A., ACTV – Azienda Consorzio Trasporti Venezia S.p.A., G.T.T. – Gruppo Torinese Trasporti S.p.A., TRANSDEV SA, TAG S.r.l., SINLOC – Sistema Iniziative Locali S.p.A, ATCM S.p.A., TRAMBUS S.p.A., ATC S.p.A. in Bologna, ATAF S.p.A., ATC S.p.A. in La Spezia, ATP S.p.A., Tempi S.p.A., TEP S.p.A., APAM Esercizio S.p.A and Consorzio Trasporti Italiani – CO.TR.I) and is still under way: the Authority has yet to decide whether and to what extent the conduct of these companies should be punished.
