LD ON TRUCKING: CATRICALÀ, GOVERNMENT INCONSISTENT, CHAMBERS NOT RATIFYING
“Having already announced its liberalization policy, the Government contradicted itself by passing a law decree on trucking that, in essence, restores minimum mandatory tariffs without taking any account of market-based reasoning that was clearly expressed in a duly-delivered Antitrust Authority report. The risk now is that other sectors will demand the same privilege to the detriment of both competition and consumers. This is why the Antitrust Authority expects Parliament not to ratify the government's decision."
So reads the statement by Antonio Catricalà, President of the Autorità Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato.
