Autostrade: Catricalà, include specific obligations to motorists in services charter

PRESS RELEASE

AUTOSTRADE: CATRICALÀ, INCLUDE SPECIFIC OBLIGATIONS TO MOTORISTS IN SERVICES CHARTER

Current commitments to the Licensor are not enough

“The Services Charter of Autostrade should include specific obligations to motorists that, if not respected, result in economic compensation measures,” according to President of the Antitrust Authority Antonio Catricalà, in the light of the complex investigation leading to the fining of Autostrade per l’Italia for unfair commercial practice. “The company – Mr. Catricalà emphasised – during the course of the procedure had presented commitments that the College did not however accept as sufficient to avoid the sanction, not only due to the seriousness of the practice but also because they did not affect the substantial contents of the Services Charter. As it stands, the Charter does not include any quality or efficiency parameters that allow consumers to evaluate the service provided, but only efficiency criteria which bind the company in relation to the Licensor”.
