Used cars: The Antitrust Authority launches a preliminary investigation against the companies that manage the websites www.auto-prezzo.net and www.auto-valutazione.com
The Antitrust Authority has launched a preliminary investigation against the companies managing the websites www.auto-prezzo.net and www.auto-valutazione.com for unfair commercial practice. The resolution was adopted in the light of the over 1,500 reports received from individual consumers and consumer associations that state to have been deceived by the information provided for the services offered. According to the reports, the possibility to insert the required data and obtain an estimate of one’s car appeared to be free. However, 24 hours later an invoice was issued for an amount equal to 59.50 Euros (69.50 Euros as of April), payable to the company “Pascutti Invest & Factoring Spa Inc.”.
Following this first payment request, a number of close reminders was sent indicating as the referable subject in case of possible claims a non-traceable company, Karasjok OY with registered office in Tallinn (Estonia).
