The Authority has closed three investigations against companies active in the e-commerce sector, imposing sanctions for a total amount of 515,000 euros.

The companies, operating in the online sale of electronic telecommunications equipment and other components through their respective websites, are as follows: Tecnotrade S.r.l.s. (www.tecnotradeshop.it.), fined € 65,000; HP Group S.r.l. (www.plazalo.com), fined € 200,000; Tiger Group S.r.l. (https://www.tigershop.it), fined € 250,000.

The three investigations found that the traders offered online products that were not available, did not deliver the goods acquired to the consumers, nor they reimbursed the sums paid by the customers, despite repeated complaints and order cancellations.

The Authority's intervention is part of a broader action aimed at ensuring the correct and balanced development of e-commerce, also through the suppression of more serious phenomena such as the failure to deliver goods ordered and regularly paid by consumers, the obstacle to reimbursement and disclosure of misleading information regarding the actual status of purchase orders.
