On 10 June 2020, the Authority initiated an investigation against Autostrade per l'Italia S.p.A. (ASPI), the concessionaire company for the management and maintenance of over 3,000 km of motorway network managed in Italy.

The procedure is aimed at ascertaining the existence of alleged unfair practices consisting of:

- as regards the A / 16 Napoli / Canosa motorway, in the failure to adapt the motorway toll due to the reduction of the lanes and specific limitations at 80 km / h of the maximum speed allowed, in both directions, for long stretches of the route, resulting in increased travel times;

- as regards all sections of the motorway network managed by ASPI, in the information procedures concerning the reimbursement procedures that can be activated in the event of a worsening of the service due to reductions in the traffic lanes or for specific limitations on the road network (such as, for example, reduction of the roadway, of the maximum speed, blocking of heavy vehicles, closing of some exits, etc.).

As part of the procedure, inspections were carried out at some of the Company's offices.
