A possible agreement on discounts applied to medicines and OTC products is currently under the scrutiny of the Authority

Following a report by a pharmacist, the Italian Antitrust Authority has started an investigation against the Interprovincial Association of Pharmacists of Bari-Barletta-Andria-Trani and numerous pharmacies in Altamura, concerning an alleged anticompetitive agreement to prevent or, in any case agree in advance, the discounts applied on medicines and other products, including supplements, sold in pharmacies, in breach of article 2, paragraph 2, of Law 287/1990.

Officials of the Authority have carried out inspections in Bari and Altamura.
