The third edition of the competition is reserved to four categories: consumer associations, business associations, journalists, university students

After last year’s suspension due to the pandemic, the Italian Competition Authority Award established by the Italian Competition Authority is back, and this edition is reserved to four categories: consumer associations, business associations, journalists, university students. The third edition of the award was presented by Professor Michele Ainis, a member of the Board of the Authority, on 4 November during the final event of the campaign #convienesaperlo.

As regards the category reserved to university students, the Italian Competition Authority will award the best degree thesis, discussed in 2021, which deals with issues related to the activities of the Italian Competition Authority. In addition to official recognition by the Authority, the winner will receive a cash prize of 2,500 Euro and will also have the opportunity to do an internship at the Italian Competition Authority and participate in the “Trento Summer School on Advanced EU Competition Law and Economics” (Moena).

For the “journalists” category, official recognition will go to the agency or press article or television, radio or online service that more than any other promotes the development of a culture of competition and consumer rights, completed in 2021 or in the year prior to the publication of the tender. 

Finally, the Authority will award official recognition to the consumer association and business association that more than any other contributed to the dissemination of the values of competition or protection of consumer rights, through initiatives developed in 2021 or in the year prior to the publication of the tender.

To participate in the 2021 Italian Competition Authority Award, the application should be completed and submitted in the manner indicated in the tender published on the websitewww.agcm.it.

The entries of the various categories, which will be examined by a committee of experts appointed by the Authority, and should be sent to email address [email protected] no later than 31 December 2021. The results of the selection will be announced with notice published on the institutional website of the Authority, while an official award giving ceremony will be organised at the head office of the Authority.
