The aim is to provide sector operators with a tool for out-of-court settlement of disputes with consumers/passengers. The initiative will be followed by a coordination with the Transport Regulatory Authority

The Italian Competition Authority and the Italian Civil Aviation Authority ENAC have set up a joint working group to draw up and publish specific Guidelines on alternative dispute resolution (ADR) procedures in the air transport sector, with the aim of providing sector operators with a tool to guide them in defining ADR procedures and/or in choosing the ADR body for out-of-court settlement of disputes with consumers/passengers.

The initiative will be followed by a coordination with the Transport Regulatory Authority which, following the approval of the competition bill, will have jurisdiction over ADR mechanisms for all transport sectors.
