PS12515 - Italian Competition Authority: investigation launched against Mondo Convenienza

PRESS RELEASE

According to the Authority, the company Iris Mobili, owner of the brand, allegedly delivered defective, damaged, non-conforming products that did not correspond to consumer orders. Furthermore, alleged shortcomings in after-sales service and in meeting its obligations under the guarantee of conformity have been reported.

The Italian Competition Authority has opened an investigation against Iris Mobili S.r.l., owner of the Mondo Convenienza brand, for unlawful conduct in the delivery and assembly of furniture and also in after-sales services.

Numerous complaints received from consumers indicate that the company allegedly delivered non-conforming, defective, damaged products, not corresponding to the purchase order, with missing parts or wrong dimensions. In other cases, the products were not assembled correctly, thus preventing normal use. Furthermore, the company - in the face of consumer complaints about these problems - allegedly failed to provide timely and appropriate after-sales assistance to resolve them and obstructed the provision of the services under the guarantee of conformity.

Today, officials from the Italian Competition Authority carried out an inspection at the administrative headquarters of Iris Mobili S.r.l. with the help of the Special Antitrust Unit of the Italian Financial Police (Guardia di Finanza).
