PRESS RELEASE

The initiative is carried out in collaboration with the World Bank. President Rustichelli: "It has been a real privilege for our Authority to collaborate with the World Bank over the past ten years and contribute to this successful initiative that has enabled the collection and dissemination of best advocacy practices worldwide".
During the annual conference of the International Competition Network, held in Sauipe, Brazil, the Italian Competition Authority was awarded by ICN President Andreas Mundt for its significant contribution and relentless commitment to the organisation of the Competition Advocacy Contest. This initiative, realised in cooperation with the World Bank and now in its 10th edition, is open to all Competition Authorities worldwide and aims at identifying the most effective advocacy initiatives.
"For the Authority, it has been a real privilege to collaborate with the World Bank over the past ten years and contribute to this successful initiative," said President Roberto Rustichelli upon receiving the award. "The Contest represents an eminent example of cooperation between two important international organisations. From the outset, we have enthusiastically embraced this innovative and inspiring initiative, which has made it possible to collect and disseminate the best advocacy practices worldwide. I would like to congratulate all the winners and honourable mentions and warmly thank all the participants, whose enthusiasm and stories contributed to the success of the initiative."
The 2024 edition of the Contest focuses on the theme of the role of competition in promoting economic growth, considering the challenges introduced by new technologies, protectionist industrial policies and the dual transition to green and digital. The 10th edition saw the participation of 48 projects, submitted by 27 different competition authorities. The list of winning projects is available on the World Bank website at the following link: Competition Advocacy Contest 2024 (worldbank.org).
