PS12717 - Italian Competition Authority: investigation launched against Interflora for unfair commercial practices
PRESS RELEASE
According to the Authority, the company might not respect the guaranteed delivery time, nor the quality and variety of the flowers chosen. Furthermore, it may not adequately inform consumers about the costs of the delivery service
The Italian Competition Authority has opened an investigation against Interflora Italia S.p.A. for alleged unfair commercial practices in the advertising and sale of floral gifts, in violation of the Consumer Code.
In particular, the company Interflora might not respect the 'guaranteed' delivery times of the products sold, which in some cases would also differ, in terms of quality and variety, from those chosen by consumers. Moreover, it may not adequately represent the mandatory costs associated with the floral gift delivery service.
Today, Authority officials carried out an inspection of the company Interflora Italia S.p.A. with the help of the Special Antitrust Unit of the Italian Financial Police (Guardia di Finanza).
