Proceedings were initiated for unilateral changes in supply prices

The action of the Italian Competition Authority in the energy sector continues. In particular, with regard to unilateral changes in electricity and gas supply prices, the proceedings against five companies that had been closed with obligations between July and September led to compensations benefitting almost 600 thousand consumers and micro-enterprises amounting to approximately EUR 128 million.

Within the same activity, the Authority had fined six energy companies more than EUR 15 million last October. In this case, 4.5 million consumers and micro-enterprises were involved. Finally, proceedings were not initiated against eight other companies as they didn’t follow up on the unilateral price changes already communicated.
