Authority's powers

Under Law 215/2004, the Authority is tasked with identifying and dealing with conflicts of interest involving holders of Government office.

In particular, the Authority may examine whether:

• situations of incompatibility arise under Article 2; or
• conflicts of interest exist under Article 3.
  
  

What happens in case of non-compliance

If the applicable provisions are not observed, the Authority may request that the measures provided for by law be applied.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include seeking:

• removal from office by the competent administration, oversight body or company;
• suspension from public or private employment;
• suspension from professional registers, following a request to the relevant professional associations.
