Situations of incompatibility

Under Article 2 of Law 215/2004, holders of Government office may not:

• hold public offices or positions other than a parliamentary mandate;
• hold offices, positions or functions in bodies governed by public law;
• perform management functions in profit-making companies or in other business activities;
• pursue professional or self-employed activities in fields connected with their Government office;
• take on any form of public or private employment.

In addition, certain incompatibility rules continue to apply for 12 months after the end of the Government mandate.
