Head of Cabinet

The Head of Cabinet is proposed by the President and appointed by the Board. Candidates are selected from among university professors, judges of the ordinary, administrative or accounting courts, the State Attorney or public administration executives. Upon request, the Head of Cabinet may be placed on secondment under the applicable rules. The Head of Cabinet receives an allowance determined by decision of the Board. The appointment lasts until the end of the President’s term of office. The Head of Cabinet oversees the Institutional and External Relations, Communications and Press Directorate; the International and European Union Affairs Directorate; the Evaluation and Strategic Control Entity; the Prevention of Corruption and Transparency Directorate; the IT Security Directorate; and the Research, Parliamentary Affairs and Library Office. The Legal Affairs Department reports directly to the President. Acting under delegation from the President, the Head of Cabinet oversees its activities. On the President’s instructions, the Head of Cabinet promotes the establishment of working groups on matters of interest to the Authority, including with the participation of external experts. The Head of Cabinet also provides support for, and reviews, the Annual Report and the President’s appearances before institutions and decision-makers, and reviews documents submitted for the President’s signature. The Head of Cabinet carries out any other duties assigned by the President and may attend meetings of the Authority when requested. On a proposal from the President, the Board may appoint a Deputy Head of Cabinet, who acts in place of the Head of Cabinet when required. The Deputy Head of Cabinet is chosen from among university professors, judges of the ordinary, administrative or accounting courts, the State Attorney or public administration executives. Upon request, the Deputy Head of Cabinet may be placed on secondment under the applicable rules. The Deputy Head of Cabinet receives an allowance determined by decision of the Board. The appointment lasts until the end of the President’s term of office.
