How the Authority is funded
The Authority’s current funding model has been in place since 2013, following the introduction of legislation requiring capital companies to help finance its operations.
Each year, capital companies with annual revenues exceeding €50 million must contribute a small portion of their turnover. For the year 2024, the contribution has been set at 0.059 per thousand of the turnover reported in the company’s most recently approved financial statements. This rate was established by Decision no. 31092 of 5 March 2024.
While the Authority may revise the contribution rate in future years, it may not raise it beyond the legal limit of 0.5 per thousand of a company’s annual turnover.
To ensure transparency and accountability, the Authority’s financial statements are subject to review by the Italian Court of Auditors (Corte dei Conti).
