Sending documents via certified email (PEC)

You may also send official correspondence to the Italian Competition Authority using the certified email address: [email protected].

The Authority will process documents that meet the required standards and reply using the most appropriate communication channel.

What types of documents are considered valid?

The following documents will be treated as valid:

  • Documents sent by public administrations that meet the conditions set out in section 47 of the Digital Administration Code (Legislative Decree no. 82 of 7 March 2005, as amended);
  • Documents sent by private individuals or companies to the Authority’s certified email address, digitally signed using a certificate issued by an accredited certification authority (see section 65 of the Code), regardless of the sender’s email provider.

 What about other types of emails?

Other emails will be registered by the Authority and assessed to determine whether they can be processed, in accordance with section 21 of the Code.

Please note that emails sent from a certified email address (PEC) are legally equivalent to registered mail with return receipt.

File size limit

To ensure successful delivery, each message sent to the Authority’s certified email address, including attachments, must not exceed 30 MB. If your attachments exceed this limit, they must be split across separate emails. Messages over 30 MB cannot be processed, and you will be asked to resend them in smaller, separate parts.
