Guido Stazi
Secretary General
Guido Stazi has served as Secretary General of the Italian Competition Authority since 8 March 2022. Before taking on this role, he headed the Authority’s Economic Policy Committee.
His career includes senior leadership positions at two other major Italian regulatory bodies. From 2005 to 2012, he was Head of Cabinet at the Italian Communications Authority (AGCOM), and from 2013 to 2017, he served as Secretary General of CONSOB, the Italian Companies and Stock Exchange Commission.
Mr. Stazi holds a J.D. from the University of Rome La Sapienza, where he also began his academic career as an assistant in Economic Policy at the Faculty of Law. He held a similar role in Public Finance at LUISS University’s Faculty of Law in Rome. He later taught Competition Economics and Policy at the University of Siena’s Faculty of Economics and Banking.
A former columnist for MF-Milano Finanza, he is the author of numerous works on antitrust, regulation and the digital economy.
